Somaliland Globe, October 15, 2009 – In a statement released today, KULMIYE party warns that the recent agreement of Somaliland’s three political parties may fall apart if president Rayaale continues to undermine the electoral process including the formation of the new National Electoral Commission (NEC).

dHARGEISA, Somaliland (Somaliland Globe)- President Rayale has today officially accepted the resignations of all seven members of Somaliland’s National Electoral Commission (NEC) following the recent agreement signed by the ruling party and opposition parties under the auspices of western donor countries.

HARGEISA, Somaliland (The Somaliland Globe) – President Dahir Rayale Kahin today held a consultation meeting with the two leaders of Somaliland’s main opposition parties about the six point agreement sponsored by western donor countries that provide support for the on-going democratization and electoral process in Somaliland. 

Four members of the Electoral Commission, including the chairman, resigned a day after two other members also resigned bringing the total that resigned to 6 out of the 7 members of the commission. On 26th of September 2009, the ISG members met to discuss the implications of recent Agreement sponsored by the international community between the Somaliland parties and the subsequent historic  unanimous vote of the House of Elders on the 25th of Sept, 2009, to endorse it.
