HARGEISA, Somaliland (Somaliland Globe)- A member of Somaliland presidential guard had made death threats against Mohamed Nur Arrale and Ali Hassan Mohamed in the presence of the head of Intelligence and head of the presidential guard yesterday, lawmakers told the press.
HARGEISA, Somaliland (Somaliland Globe)- Hundred of angry but peaceful protesters have poured into the surroundings of the parliament in Hargeisa today following the intervention of yesterday’s parliamentary session by police who had claimed they were “acting under direct orders of the president”.
HARGEISA, Somaliland (Somaliland Globe)- Somaliland police today arrested WARYA TV and Saraar News Online reporter, Ibrahim Abdirahman Qasim, and seized his camera and equipments following the deployment of police in the parliament which led to Saturday’s parliamentary session to be cancelled.
HARGEISA, Somaliland (Somaliland Globe)- Around two hundred armed policemen entered Somaliland’s parliament to force the Speaker of the House to allow six legislators of the ruling party, UDUB, to attend and participate in today’s parliamentary session although the legislators were disciplined and given 3 day suspension from attending sessions.

The AU’s Special Envoy to Somalia/Somaliland, Mr. Nicholas Bwakira arrived in Hargeisa today. His visit follows the departure of the Ethiopian deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Tekede Alemu from Hargeisa.
Mr. Bwakira is slated to hold separate meeting with the candidates of the three political parties and the parliament.
Members of the ruling party parliamentarians violently disrupted the normal session of the parliament today.
